Publishing Program "Logos"

The publishing program Logos was set up in 1996 within the TSU Institute of Classical, Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies. The program aims to promote ancient, Byzantine and modern Greek culture in Georgia. It publishes translations of Greek and Latin works as well as textbooks, reference books, encyclopedias, dictionaries and monographs in Greek studies. Logos has published over 200 books including Phasis, an international journal of Greek and Latin Studies, Modern Greek-Georgian Dictionary, Encyclopedia Ancient Caucasus, volume I, and original Georgian textbooks in all main subjects. Logos pays special attention to the publication of literature translated from Greek and Latin. Especially noteworthy are the Anthology of Ancient Literature in 3 volumes, Chrestomathy of Modern Greek Poetry, Chrestomathy of Modern Greek Prose, translations of works by Pindar, Cicero, Greek lyric poets, Aelianus, Cavafy, Elytis and others.
