The First International Educational Meeting for Greek Language teachers “Greek-speaking Education, Trends – Dimensions – Proposals” was held on the 27-30th April, Odessa.
The organizers of the meeting: Hellenic Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, General Secretariat of Greeks Abroad, Hellenic Republic Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs, General Consulate of Greece in Mariupol, Coordination Office of Education, Boumbouras Foundation, Ukrainian Greek Community.
The meeting has been attended by the lecturers of the Institute of Classical, Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies of Tbilisi State University, the teacher of Greek Language, seconded to Georgia by Hellenic Republic Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs, TSU Ph.D. student Georgia Dimopoulou, who has presented a talk: "Film subtitling as a powerful tool in learning Greek as a foreign or second language"and Dr of Philological Sciences Svetlana Berikashvili. The results of the project "Online Dictionary of Idioms" (project authors: Svetlana Berikashvili, Irina Lobzhanidze, editors: Sophio Shamanidi, Shukia Aphridonidze, software: Irakli Gunia) implemented in collaboration with Ilia State University were also mentioned at the meeting.
